EcoVadis is an international sustainability assessment platform for companies, primarily used by large organizations and multinationals to evaluate their suppliers and business partners. The EcoVadis assessment results in a numerical score (0–100) and, depending on performance, the awarding of an EcoVadis medal (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum).

EcoVadis does not evaluate intentions or general statements, but rather policies, procedures, and concrete implementation evidence. It assesses, among other things: the existence of relevant internal documents, clarity of responsibilities, implemented and monitored measures, tracked indicators, corrective actions, and continuous improvements. Missing or incomplete documentation can significantly impact the score, even if certain practices exist informally.

How does the EcoVadis assessment process work?

The EcoVadis assessment process is carried out in three main stages:

1. Online questionnaire completion

The questionnaire is tailored depending on the company’s industry, size, and location.

2. Uploading supporting documents

The documents demonstrate the existence and concrete implementation of the evaluated practices.

3. Analysis and EcoVadis score assignment

EcoVadis assigns an overall score and partial scores, benchmarked against similar companies.
